When I first came across DIRTY Potato Chips, I eagerly scooped up two bags because they were on sale… okay, and because I love kettle chips and was intrigued by the packaging and flavors.
I chose two flavors, so this review will be broken down into my impressions of each: Mesquite BBQ and Roasted Garlic and Herb.
Mesquite BBQ
I am a huge fan of BBQ potato chips, so I was eager to try DIRTY’s version. First off, I should explain that DIRTY’s kettle chips are both all natural and cholesterol free, which automatically make them healthier than traditional potato chips. They are kettle cooked in peanut oil, and are free from MSG, artificial colors, preservatives, wheat glutens, and hydrogenated oils.
After I read all that, I had high hopes these chips would offer a wonderful experience… and I was right! The Mesquite BBQ flavor was tangy and bold, but it didn’t overshadow the natural potato flavor that kettle chips are known for. They had just the right amount of satisfying crunch and a delicious flavor I couldn’t get over.
Before I knew it, I was hooked and almost polished off the whole bag! I told myself it was okay to slip that one time though, because these kettle chips are a lot healthier than regular potato chips and only come in a 5.5 oz bag.
Overall, I was very pleased with the BBQ flavor and couldn’t wait to try the other bag I had picked up.
Roasted Garlic and Herb
I was a little apprehensive about trying this flavor, as I am not a fan of a really strong garlic taste. However, this and the BBQ were the only two available at my local store, so I decided to give it a whirl.
Let me tell you, I am glad I did!
These chips were just as crunchy and flavorful as the BBQ variety, with just the right touch of garlic and herbs to satisfy. You can still taste the delicious kettle cooked potato, and the garlic flavor complements rather than overshadows the natural flavor of these chips.
Because I had already polished off almost the entire bag of the BBQ flavor, I didn’t eat nearly as many of these, but I ate enough to really start to enjoy the flavor and satisfying crunch. Even if you don’t really like garlic, I suggest you give these a try. They just might change your opinion!
Overall, I am glad I took a chance on DIRTY’S All Natural Potato Chips. I enjoyed both the Mesquite BBQ flavor and the Roasted Garlic and Herb, and would happily buy them again.
I don’t know how much they retail for, but I was able to pick up two bags for about $4 at my local Henry’s. I definitely think they were worth that price!
I’d love to try some of the other flavors that are available, so I’ll need to keep an eye out the next time I head to the grocery store. If you’re interested in DIRTY All Natural Potato Chips, visit their website and order a few!
