"A line of organic clothes with some cute, non-eco-agressive designs would be top-sellers in my book!"

If you’re looking for ways to live a more eco-friendly life, for yourself and your family, check out a new online store: Funky Green Machine. They have the greenest and chicest products for mom, dad, kids, pets, and home. We received an assortment of items, which we gave to a mom to test drive. Here are her thoughts:

Think Baby Dishes

The Think Baby dishes are a great size, the lids snap well and keep things sealed; however, the fact that you cannot microwave them and have two pieces to each dish is kind of inconvenient. They are perfect for warm table food or for dry snacks, cereal, and fresh fruits and veggies. Leftovers will have to be heated in a different dish, though. Being BPA-free is a big bonus!

Tiny Revolutionary T-shirt

Tiny Revolutionary’s “Recycle Love” tee is super soft, and I’m assuming comfy on my little one, but I did have a couple of issues with it.  First, the seems weren’t quite even, which made it look like it didn’t quite fit right, even though it was the right size. If that issue isn’t a common one, then I’m sure they would be fine shirts for kids to wear. The second thing is that I would love to find some organic clothes that don’t advertise their organicness (is that a word?) right on the front of the t-shirt. A line of organic clothes with some cute, non-eco-agressive designs would be top-sellers in my book! I wish I had more nice things to say about this tee because it really does feel soft and comfy and otherwise would look adorable on my little girl.

Spoiled Mama’s Original Bump Gloss

The Spoiled Mama’s “The Original Bump Gloss” was a treat for my senses during pregnancy. This combination of organic herbal, fruit, and nut oils has such a soothing, calming lavender smell, it made me want a nap after every time I put it on. I don’t know that it actually did anything for my belly, except maybe provide some moisturization and made me smell good, but it did, as it says on the bottle, make my shower very slippery! You just have to be careful when applying not to drop too much on your shower or tub floor.  The only concern is that there are so many warnings these days about the potential risks of using herbs and essential oils during pregnancy, though the product says that it is gentle enough for moms and babies; however, as with any similar product, I would check with your doctor before use, as it warns on the label. I use it quite frequently now that I’ve had my daughter, if for nothing else than the relaxing, soothing aromatherapy that it provides.
If you and your family are looking for some eco-friendly products (or gifts for the holidays) Funky Green Machine has tons more to offer. So check them out and let us know what you think!
